BaliCEB Strengthens Global Partnerships to Advance Bali’s Business Events Industry

JAKARTA — The Bali Convention & Exhibition Bureau (BaliCEB) participated as an exhibitor at the inaugural Indonesia Business Event Mart (IBEM) 2026, held from 28–31 July at the Jakarta International Convention Centre.

The event provided BaliCEB with an important platform to expand its international network, strengthen relationships with global buyers, and reinforce Bali’s position as one of Asia-Pacific’s leading destinations for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE).

As Indonesia’s premier business-to-business marketplace for the business events industry, IBEM brought together destinations, convention venues, Professional Conference Organisers (PCOs), Destination Management Companies (DMCs), associations and international buyers through a programme of business appointments, networking opportunities and industry knowledge sessions. The event highlighted Indonesia’s growing ambition to strengthen its presence in the regional and global business events market.

Bali must be recognised for much more than its natural beauty. Our ambition is to position the island as a professional, creative and sustainable business events destination capable of delivering exceptional experiences that cannot easily be replicated elsewhere.

Engaging with Global Buyers

During the four-day event, BaliCEB engaged with hosted buyers representing event planners, incentive specialists, destination experts and tour operators from the United States, Australia, China, India, Italy, Germany, Jordan, Canada, Kenya, Poland, Russia, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.

The meetings showcased Bali’s extensive capabilities in hosting international congresses, corporate meetings, incentive programmes, exhibitions and association conferences.

Dr Jaman noted that while IBEM had successfully connected Bali with high-quality international buyers, the true measure of success would be the industry’s ability to convert these initial meetings into site inspections, competitive bids and confirmed international events.

Building a Stronger Future for Bali’s Business Events Sector

Looking ahead, BaliCEB believes the continued growth of Bali’s MICE industry will depend on several strategic priorities:

BaliCEB expressed its appreciation to the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, TTG Asia Media, E&C Productions, and all partners involved in the successful staging of IBEM 2026. Together with the Southeast Asia Business Events Forum (SEABEF), the event represents an important milestone in strengthening Indonesia’s business events ecosystem and raising the country’s profile within the regional meetings industry.

Looking forward, BaliCEB hopes IBEM will continue to evolve into a flagship annual marketplace that delivers measurable business outcomes, strengthens industry capabilities and creates greater opportunities for Indonesia—and Bali in particular—to secure more international meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions.
