BaliCEB Strengthens Global Business Events Position at MATTA Fair Kuala Lumpur 2026

KUALA LUMPUR, 9 September 2026 — The Bali Convention & Exhibition Bureau (BaliCEB) further strengthened its international engagement in the global business events industry through its participation in MATTA Fair Kuala Lumpur 2026, held from 4–6 September 2026 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur.

As a major business-to-consumer (B2C) tourism trade show, MATTA Fair provides a strategic platform for destinations and tourism stakeholders to engage directly with the travelling public, while fostering dialogue and collaboration across the international tourism value chain.

For BaliCEB, participation in MATTA Fair forms part of its broader international destination marketing strategy to position Bali beyond its established leisure tourism image and strengthen its profile as a competitive global business events destination.

BaliCEB showcased Bali’s capabilities across the business events spectrum, including meetings, incentive travel, conferences, exhibitions and corporate events, while highlighting the destination’s integrated ecosystem of venues, hotels, professional event organisers, destination management companies, international connectivity, and distinctive cultural and experiential offerings.

“Bali is not only a world-class leisure destination. It is also a sophisticated and highly capable business events destination, with the infrastructure, professional expertise and distinctive experiences required to host international meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions.”

Strategic Dialogue with MATTA Leadership

A key highlight of BaliCEB’s participation was a strategic meeting held on 6 September 2026 between Dr Ketut Jaman, Chairman of BaliCEB, and members of the Executive Board of the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA).

BaliCEB extends its sincere appreciation to the MATTA leadership for taking the time to meet with the BaliCEB Chairman and for engaging in a constructive dialogue on opportunities to strengthen tourism and business events cooperation between Malaysia and Bali.

The MATTA representatives present were Vijiya Kumar, Selangor Chapter Chairman, 2023–2026 Term; Gopalan A/L Mariappan, Vice President Inbound & Domestic, 2026–2029 Term; Rocky Kho 许光标, Honorary Treasurer, 2026–2029 Term; Chong Yu Ken 张耀权, Vice President Outbound, 2026–2029 Term; and Subramaniam Punusamy BKM 苏布拉马尼姆, Honorary Secretary General, 2026–2029 Term.

From Destination Promotion to Global Business Events Partnership

The engagement reflects BaliCEB’s evolving role as a destination organisation committed to advancing Bali’s position within the international business events ecosystem.

Through strategic engagement with international associations, travel trade organisations, event professionals and destination partners, BaliCEB seeks to strengthen connections between Bali and global markets while creating opportunities for international conferences, incentive programmes, corporate meetings and exhibitions to be hosted on the island.

Malaysia represents an important regional market for Bali, and closer cooperation with MATTA provides an opportunity to strengthen relationships with Malaysian travel professionals and business networks that influence corporate and group travel decisions.

It is also a sophisticated and highly capable business events destination, with the infrastructure, professional expertise and distinctive experiences required to host international meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions.” — Dr Ketut Jaman, Chairman of BaliCEB

Dr Jaman further emphasised that BaliCEB’s international engagement is focused on building long-term institutional and industry partnerships, rather than simply promoting Bali as a tourism destination.

Strengthening Bali’s Global Business Events Network

BaliCEB views international trade platforms such as MATTA Fair as an important avenue for expanding Bali’s global business events network and strengthening relationships with international tourism and travel organisations.

Through such engagements, BaliCEB aims to facilitate greater collaboration among destination stakeholders, professional conference organisers, incentive houses, associations, corporations, travel companies and international event organisers.

The bureau will continue to pursue strategic international partnerships and promote Bali’s capabilities as a world-class business events destination, while strengthening the island’s connectivity with key regional and global markets.

BaliCEB congratulates MATTA on the successful organisation of MATTA Fair Kuala Lumpur 2026 and expresses its appreciation to the MATTA Executive Board for the valuable dialogue and warm engagement with BaliCEB.

The bureau looks forward to translating this dialogue into tangible opportunities for international business events cooperation and further elevating Bali’s position on the global business events map.
