JAKARTA — The Bali Convention & Exhibition Bureau (BaliCEB) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening ASEAN’s position as a globally competitive business events destination through its support for the Southeast Asia Business Events Forum (SEABEF) 2026.
Held in Jakarta, SEABEF 2026 serves as a strategic platform bringing together government agencies, convention bureaux, destination organisations, professional associations, venue operators and industry leaders to foster regional collaboration and enhance Southeast Asia’s profile in the international meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) market.
Opening the forum, Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, reiterated the Government’s commitment to developing a high-value and sustainable tourism industry. She noted that business events have become powerful economic catalysts, generating investment, facilitating knowledge exchange, encouraging innovation and strengthening destination competitiveness.
“The international business events industry continues to experience steady growth. Association congresses, corporate meetings and major exhibitions regularly rotate between continents every three to four years, creating significant opportunities for destinations that are prepared to compete collectively.”
ASEAN Collaboration Creates Global Opportunities
Speaking during the forum, Dr. Ketut Jaman, Chairman of the Bali Convention & Exhibition Bureau (BaliCEB), welcomed the initiative and emphasised that closer regional cooperation is essential for ASEAN to secure a larger share of the global business events market.
He stressed that ASEAN should move beyond competing individually and instead embrace collaborative destination marketing.

As the official convention bureau representing Bali, BaliCEB continues to advocate stronger partnerships between government, tourism authorities, convention bureaux, industry associations and the private sector to elevate Indonesia’s business events ecosystem.
