Bali Strengthens Fuel Supply Resilience to Support Tourism and International Events

DENPASAR, Bali | 20 October 2026 — Fuel supplies in Bali are showing signs of recovery following temporary distribution disruptions caused by delays to fuel tankers travelling from Java. Indonesia’s Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, has confirmed that measures are under way to restore supply levels and strengthen distribution across the island.

According to a report published by Bali Post on 20 October 2026, Bali’s fuel reserves had recovered to approximately 11–12 days’ supply, with the Government targeting an increase to 15 days. The number of vessels transporting fuel to Bali is also set to increase from three to seven to accelerate replenishment and improve distribution reliability.

These developments are particularly relevant to Bali’s tourism and business events sectors, which rely on dependable transport, logistics and supporting infrastructure to accommodate international visitors and large-scale events.

“Distribution is improving and additional measures are being implemented to strengthen supply resilience, increasing fuel reserves to 15 days to ensure stability across Bali.”

Government and Pertamina Coordinate to Restore Supplies

The temporary disruption followed delays to fuel shipments from Java over the preceding week, resulting in a reduction of approximately three to four days in Bali’s fuel reserves.

Following a co-ordination meeting at the Sanggaran fuel terminal in Denpasar on 19 October 2026, Minister Bahlil Lahadalia reported that distribution was improving and that additional measures were being implemented to strengthen supply resilience.

The meeting was attended by Bali Governor Wayan Koster, Bali Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya, senior military representatives, Pertamina President Director Simon Aloysius Mantiri and other relevant officials.

The Government has instructed Pertamina to increase Bali’s fuel reserves to 15 days and expand the number of vessels transporting fuel from Java. These measures are intended to accelerate replenishment and reduce the risk of similar distribution disruptions in the future.

Bali’s two principal fuel storage terminals are located in Manggis, Karangasem Regency, and Sanggaran, Denpasar. Both facilities play an important role in maintaining fuel availability and supporting distribution throughout the island.

What International Event Planners Need to Know

Bali is an established destination for international conferences, corporate meetings, incentive programmes, exhibitions and other business events. For event planners considering the island, dependable transport and fuel availability are important operational considerations when organising airport transfers, delegate movements, venue logistics and off-site activities.

The latest developments highlight the importance of co-ordination between government authorities, energy suppliers, transport operators and the tourism industry in maintaining the destination’s operational readiness.

For event organisers, practical planning measures include confirming transport arrangements with local destination management companies, booking vehicles in advance, allowing sufficient transfer times between venues and preparing contingency arrangements for time-sensitive movements.

For multi-venue conferences, incentive itineraries and events involving large numbers of international delegates, early co-ordination with local suppliers can help ensure efficient transport scheduling and smoother programme delivery.

Supporting Bali’s Readiness for International Events

Efforts to restore and strengthen fuel distribution highlight the importance of infrastructure resilience in supporting Bali’s tourism economy and international business events sector.

The Bali Convention & Exhibition Bureau (BaliCEB) encourages international event planners to work closely with experienced local partners to co-ordinate transport, accommodation, venues and supporting services in line with their event requirements.

With advance planning and effective local co-ordination, organisers can make informed operational arrangements while developing business events that showcase Bali’s hospitality, cultural heritage and international meeting facilities.
