Bali Ready to Safeguard Two International Police Events in Nusa Dua

Denpasar, Bali – Bali is once again preparing to host major international events involving police delegations from various countries. To ensure the safety and smooth running of these events, the Bali Regional Police (Polda Bali) have deployed 744 personnel as part of Operation Gapura Agung IV-2026.

The security preparations were formally marked by a troop readiness ceremony led by the Head of Bali Regional Police, Inspector General of Police Daniel Adityajaya, at Bali Police Headquarters in Denpasar on Friday, 18 September 2026.

The security operation will focus on two international events taking place in the Nusa Dua area: the 63rd International Association of Women Police (IAWP) Training Conference, scheduled for 20–24 September 2026, and the 14th Senior Officer Meeting (SOM) between the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and the Australian Federal Police (AFP), taking place from 20–22 September 2026.

“Every officer represents the face of the Indonesian National Police and Indonesia in the eyes of the world.”

Bali Hosts International Police Delegations

The IAWP Training Conference is expected to welcome approximately 464 participants from 43 countries, including women police representatives from around the world. Meanwhile, the SOM represents an important platform for strengthening strategic cooperation between the Indonesian National Police and the Australian Federal Police.

The participation of hundreds of international delegates further highlights Bali’s role as a strategic destination for international business events, government meetings and professional conferences.

In addition to securing the event venues, Bali Police are also providing security for the arrival and movements of delegates, including at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport.

Professional and Human-Centred Security

In his address, Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya emphasised the importance of professional, human-centred and well-coordinated security operations. Personnel have been instructed to understand their respective responsibilities and to carry out their duties in accordance with established standard operating procedures.

Early detection of potential security risks is also a key priority. Coordination among task forces, together with structured reporting, will help ensure that any potential disruption can be identified and addressed promptly.

Bali Police are also making optimal use of technology, including the Bali Police Command Centre, to support the supervision and monitoring of personnel throughout the events.

The Head of Bali Regional Police stressed that hosting international events in Bali is not only a matter of security, but also contributes to Indonesia’s image in the eyes of the international community.

“Every officer represents the face of the Indonesian National Police and Indonesia in the eyes of the world,” he said in his address.

Supporting Bali as a Business Events Destination

For the Bali Convention and Exhibition Bureau (BaliCEB), the readiness of infrastructure, services and security is an important component in strengthening the confidence of international conference organisers and event planners in choosing Bali as their destination.

The hosting of the IAWP Training Conference and SOM in Nusa Dua demonstrates Bali’s experience and capacity to accommodate international events involving delegates from numerous countries.

Strong collaboration between government authorities, security agencies, hotels and venues, professional event organisers, destination management companies and other tourism stakeholders is essential to delivering safe, professional and memorable experiences for international delegates.

BaliCEB remains committed to fostering cross-sector collaboration and strengthening Bali’s position as a leading destination for conferences, meetings, incentives, exhibitions and other international events.
