Bali Hosts KONASPI XII 2026, Strengthening Its Position as a Knowledge and Business Events Destination

NUSA DUA, BALI – 2 October 2026 — Bali is reinforcing its position as one of Indonesia’s leading destinations for conferences and business events with the hosting of the 12th National Convention on Indonesian Education (KONASPI XII 2026) at the Nusa Dua Convention Center (NDCC) from 2–4 October 2026.

The three-day national convention brings together 1,694 participants from 12 public Teacher Education Institutions (LPTK) from across Indonesia. Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) is serving as the host institution for this year’s convention, which provides a national platform for academics, university leaders, education practitioners and other stakeholders to exchange ideas and discuss the future direction of Indonesian education.

Held under the theme “Transforming Education Towards Golden Indonesia 2045: Innovation, Collaboration and Sustainable Education”, KONASPI XII focuses on the role of education in supporting Indonesia’s long-term national development agenda.

The convention provides an opportunity for participants to examine key challenges and opportunities facing the education sector, while encouraging greater collaboration between higher education institutions, government and other stakeholders.

“The hosting of KONASPI XII with over 1,600 educators and university leaders highlights Bali’s expanding role as a premier destination for knowledge-based events, combining professional conference outcomes with meaningful cultural and destination experiences.”

Advancing Education Through Innovation and Collaboration

The programme addresses a range of strategic issues relevant to the future of Indonesian education. Discussions include strengthening educational character and philosophy, improving literacy, numeracy and science, enhancing the role of Teacher Education Institutions, and strengthening the Teacher Professional Education programme.

Another important area of discussion is the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in education. Participants are exploring how emerging technologies can be adopted in ways that are ethical, inclusive and sustainable, while ensuring that innovation remains aligned with the broader objectives of education and human development.

KONASPI XII is also expected to produce a number of outcomes that can contribute to future education policy and practice. Among these is the proposed Bali Consensus, comprising the Bali Declaration, Bali Recommendations and Bali Charter.

The outcomes of the convention are expected to be further developed into a policy brief, providing academic perspectives and recommendations for policymakers and education stakeholders.

Bali as a Destination for Knowledge Events

The decision to hold KONASPI XII in Nusa Dua also highlights Bali’s expanding role as a destination for knowledge-based events, academic conferences and professional gatherings.

While Bali has long been recognised internationally for its leisure and tourism appeal, the island has increasingly established itself as a destination capable of hosting conferences, conventions, exhibitions, incentive programmes and other business events.

The successful hosting of a convention involving more than 1,600 participants demonstrates the destination’s capacity to accommodate sizeable events supported by a well-developed business events ecosystem.

Bali offers a combination of international-standard convention facilities, a wide range of accommodation, professional event services, accessibility and extensive supporting infrastructure. These assets are complemented by the island’s distinctive cultural heritage, natural attractions and renowned hospitality.

For conference delegates, this combination creates opportunities to extend the business event experience beyond the meeting room, allowing participants to engage with Bali’s culture, communities and destinations as part of their overall visit.

Business Events Contributing to Bali’s Tourism Economy

Large-scale conferences such as KONASPI XII also generate wider economic activity across Bali’s tourism and hospitality sectors.

The arrival of participants from different parts of Indonesia creates demand for accommodation, transportation, restaurants, venues, event production, destination experiences and other supporting services.

Business events also provide opportunities for networking, professional development and institutional collaboration. In many cases, the relationships established during conferences can lead to future partnerships, academic exchanges and repeat visits.

From a destination perspective, such events therefore deliver value beyond the duration of the conference itself.

For the Bali Convention & Exhibition Bureau (BaliCEB), the hosting of KONASPI XII represents another example of how Bali can support events that bring together people, knowledge and professional networks.

Strengthening Bali’s Business Events Position

KONASPI XII further demonstrates the importance of positioning Bali as a destination where business events can combine professional outcomes with meaningful destination experiences.

With its established convention infrastructure, hospitality capabilities and diverse tourism offering, Bali provides event organisers with a platform to deliver conferences that are both productive and memorable.

The successful delivery of KONASPI XII contributes to Bali’s growing profile within Indonesia’s business events landscape and reinforces the island’s potential to attract future national and international conferences across a wide range of sectors.

As Bali continues to develop its business events industry, events such as KONASPI XII demonstrate the destination’s ability to serve not only as a venue for meetings, but also as a place where ideas are exchanged, partnerships are developed and new opportunities are created.

BaliCEB welcomes conferences, conventions, corporate meetings, incentive programmes and exhibitions to Bali — where you can Meet in Paradise and Achieve Beyond.
