DENPASAR, BALI – 14 October 2026 – Indonesia’s state-owned energy company, PT Pertamina (Persero), is accelerating fuel distribution across Bali following reports of queues at several petrol stations. In coordination with the Bali Provincial Government, the company is implementing operational measures to improve fuel availability, ease congestion and maintain transport services across the island.
For international associations, conference organisers and corporate event planners, reliable transport is an important consideration when coordinating airport transfers, conference shuttles, off-site functions and delegate excursions. Bali’s authorities and relevant operators are working to address the current distribution challenges and maintain mobility for residents and visitors.
“We apologise for the recent disruption and have outlined swift operational measures, including adding tanker fleets, increasing station staffing, and extending operating hours to restore normal distribution across Bali.”
Pertamina Accelerates Fuel Distribution
Pertamina President Director Simon Aloysius Mantiri apologised for the recent disruption, citing delays involving vessels unloading fuel cargo as one of the contributing factors. He made the statement following a meeting with Bali Governor Wayan Koster at the Pertamina Fuel Terminal Sanggaran in Denpasar on 13 October 2026.
Following the meeting, Pertamina outlined measures to strengthen distribution, including additional fuel tanker vehicles, increased staffing at petrol stations and extended operating hours in selected areas.
Governor Koster reported that fuel deliveries had been arranged to support local demand, with additional supplies scheduled to arrive in the following days. The authorities are also coordinating distribution and traffic management to improve the movement of fuel tankers.
What International Event Planners Should Know
Bali continues to welcome international conferences, association meetings, incentive programmes and corporate gatherings. While temporary queues may affect journey times in certain locations, the reported situation does not mean that the island’s transport services have stopped operating.
Event planners are encouraged to take a practical, precautionary approach by reviewing transfer schedules to allow additional journey time for airport transfers and conference shuttles, and maintaining close local coordination with destination management companies, transport providers and accommodation partners for the latest operational updates.
Organisers are also advised to prepare contingency arrangements by reviewing alternative timings and vehicle deployment for critical movements, especially for airport departures and scheduled conference sessions, while keeping delegates informed promptly with clear pick-up instructions.
Travellers hiring vehicles independently should also check local conditions and allow sufficient time for refuelling where necessary.
A Coordinated Approach to Business Events
Pertamina and the Bali Provincial Government are continuing to work towards restoring normal distribution and improving operational resilience. Measures include increasing tanker capacity, extending petrol station opening hours in selected areas and strengthening coordination among relevant agencies.
For international organisers, timely information and flexible transport planning remain essential to managing temporary operational challenges. Working with experienced local partners can help organisers assess conditions, adjust logistics where necessary and maintain a smooth delegate experience.
BaliCEB (Bali Convention & Exhibition Bureau) encourages international associations, professional conference organisers and corporate event planners to maintain communication with their local event partners and consult official updates when preparing transport arrangements.
With continued coordination among the authorities, tourism stakeholders and event professionals, Bali remains focused on supporting the movement of visitors and the delivery of business events across the destination.
