BaliCEB Unveils New Leadership Team to Advance Bali’s Position as a Premier Global Meetings Destination

DENPASAR, Bali, Indonesia — The Bali Convention and Exhibition Bureau (BaliCEB) has officially inaugurated its Board of Management for the 2026–2031 term, reinforcing its commitment to elevating Bali’s standing as one of Asia-Pacific’s leading destinations for international meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE).

The inauguration ceremony, held at The Meru Sanur on 5 June 2026, brought together key government leaders and industry stakeholders, including Indonesia’s Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ni Luh Puspa, Bali Governor Wayan Koster, and representatives from across the tourism and business events sectors. The new board was formally appointed under BaliCEB Decree No. 001/SK/BaliCEB/VI/2026.

In his inaugural address, BaliCEB Chairman Ketut Jaman emphasized the organization’s vision of serving as a:

“Home for Collaboration”

Highlighting the importance of strong partnerships in driving the sustainable growth of Bali’s business events industry.

“The future of the MICE industry depends on collaboration. BaliCEB is committed to bringing together government, industry, communities, and strategic partners to strengthen Bali’s position as a world-class destination for international events,” Jaman said.

He noted that while Bali is widely recognized for its extensive portfolio of world-class hotels, convention facilities, and event venues, the island’s competitive advantage extends beyond infrastructure. Bali’s cultural heritage, spirituality, creativity, hospitality, and ability to deliver meaningful and memorable experiences continue to distinguish it from competing destinations.

“Many destinations offer modern convention facilities, but few can combine professional event infrastructure with the cultural richness and authenticity that Bali provides,” he added.

Bali’s credentials as a proven host destination have been demonstrated through its successful delivery of major international gatherings, including the APEC Summit, IMF–World Bank Annual Meetings, G20 Summit, and World Water Forum. These events have further strengthened international confidence in Bali’s capabilities to host high-profile global conferences and summits.

BaliCEB New Leadership Team Inauguration at The Meru Sanur
The newly inaugurated BaliCEB Board of Management for the 2026–2031 term is poised to drive innovation and sustainable growth.

The chairman also highlighted the strategic importance of Bali’s integrated tourism infrastructure, including the Nusa Dua tourism enclave and the rapidly developing Sanur Health Special Economic Zone (SEZ), which are creating new opportunities across the business events, wellness, medical tourism, and leisure sectors.

Five Strategic Priorities (2026–2031)

As part of its roadmap for the new term, BaliCEB has identified five strategic priorities aimed at enhancing Bali’s global competitiveness:

  • Strengthening destination positioning through sustainability and cultural authenticity.
  • Expanding international partnerships and promotional activities.
  • Increasing participation in global bidding opportunities.
  • Enhancing industry standards and workforce capabilities.
  • Ensuring that the economic benefits generated by the MICE sector reach local communities.

According to Jaman, the bureau will continue to expand its international engagement through participation in key global industry trade shows and networking platforms, including AIME Melbourne, IMEX Frankfurt, IMEX America, and IBTM World Barcelona.

However, he stressed that long-term success requires more than international promotion alone.

“Winning future business events will depend on strong market intelligence, strategic bidding efforts, high service standards, innovation, sustainability, and close collaboration among all stakeholders,” he said.

Concluding his remarks, Jaman called for greater alignment between government, industry, and community stakeholders to ensure Bali remains competitive in an increasingly dynamic global marketplace.

“When Bali works independently, we become only a small part of global competition. When Bali works together, we become a destination that commands international attention.”

With a renewed leadership team and a clear strategic vision, BaliCEB is positioning itself to drive the next phase of growth for Bali’s business events sector while delivering broader economic and social benefits across the island.
