BALI, Indonesia — Bali has been selected to host the prestigious International Engineering Alliance (IEA) Meetings 2027, reinforcing the island’s standing as one of Asia-Pacific’s leading destinations for international association conferences and high-level professional gatherings.
Scheduled for 6–12 June 2027, the week-long event is expected to bring together approximately 250 senior delegates and accompanying persons from more than 30 countries, representing engineering accreditation agencies, professional institutions, universities, regulatory authorities, and industry leaders from across the globe.
The appointment was confirmed during the recent IEA Meetings 2026 held in Cape Town, South Africa, where Indonesia also celebrated a landmark achievement in international engineering education and professional recognition.
During the alliance’s closed sessions, the Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (IABEE) was unanimously admitted as a Provisional Signatory to both the:
- 📌 Sydney Accord (for Engineering Technology programs)
- 📌 Dublin Accord (for Engineering Technician programs)
According to Prof. Dr. Muhammad Romli, Chairman of IABEE, the new status will enable Indonesia to contribute more actively to the development of internationally recognized benchmarks for engineering technology and technician education, supporting the preparation of globally competitive engineering professionals. The milestone represents a significant step forward for Indonesia’s higher education and engineering sectors, while also enhancing the country’s profile within the international engineering community.
