BALI, Indonesia — Bali’s tourism sector continues to demonstrate strong momentum in 2026, providing encouraging signals for international event organizers, incentive travel planners, and corporate meeting professionals considering the island as a destination for future programs.
According to data released by the Bali Provincial Statistics Agency (BPS), the Island of the Gods welcomed 553,328 international visitor arrivals in April 2026, representing a significant 17.21% increase compared to March 2026. The vast majority of travelers arrived through Bali’s international gateway, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, highlighting the island’s continued accessibility and global connectivity.
"The growth trend reflects sustained international demand for Bali across both leisure and business travel segments, welcoming more than 2 million international visitors during the first four months of 2026."
Australia remained Bali’s largest source market with more than 146,000 arrivals during the month, followed by India, China, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Notably, visitors holding French passports recorded the highest month-on-month growth among the top source markets. For the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) industry, this steady surge in international arrivals underscores the destination’s resilience and enduring appeal among global travelers.
Positive Impact on Hospitality Performance
The growth in visitor arrivals has translated into stronger performance across Bali’s hospitality sector. Hotel occupancy rates at star-rated properties reached 57.94% in April 2026, an increase of 5.4 percentage points from the previous month.
Higher occupancy levels are an important indicator for event planners evaluating destination readiness and capacity. The improvement suggests healthy demand across accommodation categories, supported by Bali’s extensive inventory of international-standard hotels, resorts, convention facilities, and unique event venues.
Average length of stay at star-rated hotels also increased to 2.87 nights, while international visitors stayed an average of 3.11 nights, indicating opportunities for extended programs that combine business events with leisure experiences, wellness activities, cultural immersion, and incentive travel components.
Encouraging Outlook for International Event Organizers
The continued rise in international arrivals and hotel performance reinforces Bali’s position as one of Asia-Pacific’s leading destinations for meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions, and corporate retreats. For international event planners, the latest figures signal several positive developments:
- Strong and growing international air connectivity.
- Healthy hospitality sector performance and accommodation capacity.
- Continued popularity among key global source markets.
- Increasing demand for business-leisure (“bleisure”) travel experiences.
- A favorable environment for hosting international conferences, incentive programs, corporate meetings, and association events.
As Bali approaches the mid-year travel season, the destination continues to demonstrate its ability to welcome large-scale international gatherings while offering a compelling blend of modern infrastructure, authentic cultural experiences, world-class hospitality, and renowned wellness offerings.
The latest tourism performance data further strengthens Bali’s reputation as a trusted and dynamic destination for global events, positioning the island for continued growth in both tourism and the international MICE sector.
